A record of the Aarhus meeting, whole-farm recycling and a change in network coordination.
The December 2006 issue looked back at the twelfth RAMIRAN conference in Aarhus, Denmark, held 11–13 September 2006. Its stated theme was technology for recycling manure and organic residues in a whole-farm perspective.
A transition in the network
The editor thanked José Martinez for his period as coordinator and introduced Tom Misselbrook and Harald Menzi as joint coordinators at that time. The issue also anticipated the next conference in Bulgaria in 2008. These names and roles are recorded as history, not a current organisational chart.
Connect a December 2006 announcement to its evidence
The sixteen-page PDF identifies itself as Newsletter No. 3, December 2006. It combines network information with research and event notices; those item types need different follow-up.

Classify before reusing
Label a conference announcement as an announcement, a publication reference as a reference and a project description as a description. Preserve the printed dates. A newsletter’s discussion of a technology does not by itself document long-term effectiveness or current availability.
A research-trace worksheet
Record the question, newsletter page, original title, authors or organisation as printed, later document located and the limits of that document. Use the source identity to disambiguate similarly named projects. Old contact information should not be presented as a current support route without a separate check.
A completed fictional trace
A reader follows a notice about emissions research to a dated study. They extract gas species, units, animal type, observation window and management stage. If the full study cannot be obtained, the trace stops at the reference. The worksheet can still be useful because it states exactly what is and is not known.
